MARSHALLTOWN (AP) - A man accused in a double homicide in Marshall County is slated to go on trial on Jan. 13.
Kyle Deemer, of West Des Moines, entered a written plea last Friday. He waived his right to a speedy trial, and a judge scheduled his trial.
Deemer is charged with two counts of first-degree murder in the deaths of Jessica Deemer, of Waukee, and Bryce Mercer, of West Des Moines. They were found shot to death near a ditch along a highway on Oct. 17.
