IOWA CITY- The funeral here for Seth Kehoe, 2, ended a grief-stricken week for a Coralville family on Saturday.

Seth Kehoe was discovered dead near Littleton with a cut to his throat on Monday. Authorities had begun a search for him and his missing family just the night before. His older brother, Sean, and mother Michelle were seriously injured as well. On Thursday, authorities announced they plan to charge Michelle Kehoe with murdering her own child.

The service took place at St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church in Iowa City on Saturday. The family priest told mourners that Seth Kehoe was baptized just 20 months ago in front of many members of the parish who along with family and friends came to say a final farewell.

The Reverend Ed Fitzpatrick said even at age two, Seth knew what he liked and he liked the Sesame Street character Elmo. The Reverend Fitzpatrick even read from one of Seth's favorite books.

He also told father Gene Kehoe and brother Sean and other family members that one day they will greet Seth again in heaven. The Reverend Fitzpatrick also mentioned Seth's mother Michelle as a reminder to pray for the entire family.

"I visited Michelle yesterday about 5:30 p.m....she and all of us are in God's neighborhood of mercy and forgiveness and healing," he said.

As the tiny coffin left the church mourners also saw another of Seth's favorite things in his short life. He loved fire trucks as well as Elmo. An Iowa City fire engine led the procession to the cemetery.

Michelle Kehoe remains hospitalized in Iowa City and the Buchanan County attorney said she will be arrested on first degree murder and attempted murder charges as soon as she' released.
