Muscatine Woman Injured in Jet Ski Accident

By Becky Ogann

MUSCATINE (AP) - A Muscatine woman has been injured in a jet ski accident on the Mississippi River.

Officials with the Iowa Department of Natural Resources say Melissa Henderson, 37, was operating a jet ski on Saturday when it struck the spillway at Lock and Dam 16. She was taken to a Muscatine hospital.

Officials say her injuries weren't believed to be life-threatening.

Henderson and a passenger on the jet ski were wearing life jackets and were pulled from the water by a nearby boater.

Her lawyer has probably already come up with a nice fabrication that somehow blames this on the Jet Ski manufacturer. Remember the First Commandment of Trial Lawyers: assign the guilt to those with the deepest pockets.
