Cedar Rapids Man Arrested After Threatening People With Gun

By KCRG Intern

CEDAR RAPIDS (AP) - A Cedar Rapids man is under arrest after allegedly threatening people with a handgun and running from police.

Martin Ceaser was arrested on Friday night. Police say he brandished a handgun while driving in Cedar Rapids after earlier threatening an acquaintance.

Police say they attempted to pull Ceaser over but he did not stop, instead bumping the driver's side of the police car with his car's front bumper. According to police, he then stopped his car and ran from officers who caught him a few blocks later.

Police found a handgun in the front of Ceaser's car.

He is charged with two counts of assault or display of a dangerous weapon, driving while barred, interference with official acts, and failure to yield to an emergency vehicle.

Maybe places should pay more, then, if you make more money being on welfare than working. Sounds like its time to raise the minimum wage to something that actually works.

Yes Terry, you are right, we need to get out of our cars, and beat the hell out of the criminals everytime we see one. That way the criminals would know this is not a place to play those games.

Hello Bob, Have you checked out downtown Cedar Rapids anytime? before or after flood? There are a lot of needy people? some are getting very desperate now than ever before, jobs are scarce, especially for people without college education and prison records in their past. We need to get to know these people, get out of our cars, show them people care and invite them to be part of the community. There are great people that get into these types if situations. I am not condoning, just caring.
