Car Fire in Kennedy HS Parking Lot

CEDAR RAPIDS - There was a little more activity than usual for students Wednesday morning at Cedar Rapids Kennedy high school.

Firefighters were called to the school parking lot on a report of a Pontiac Grand Am catching fire. Flames had covered the hood and spread throughout.

School security said the firefighters got the flames under control fairly quickly. Still, it took several minutes to crack the hood open.

No one was injured.
