MUSCATINE, Iowa (AP) - Three firefighters were treated at a Muscatine hospital after suffering heat-related injuries while fighting a field fire.

Muscatine Fire Chief Jerry Ewers says they were injured Monday while fighting a fire that was spreading quickly through grass and corn. Flames damaged an out-building and farm equipment before it could be brought under control.

The Muscatine Journal reports (http://bit.ly/15hZIID) two of the injured firefighters were from Muscatine and one was from Fruitland. They were all treated at a hospital Monday and then released.

The temperature neared 100 degrees when firefighters were battling the blaze.
