Regents to See Report on Handling of Sex Assault

By Becky Ogann

CORALVILLE (AP) - The Iowa Board of Regents will get a look at an independent review of how the University of Iowa handled a sexual assault complaint against two former football players.

The regents are scheduled to meet Thursday in Coralville in eastern Iowa.

The independent report is written by Stolar Partnership, a St. Louis law firm hired by the regents to conduct the investigation into the university's actions.

The regents hired the firm after officials discovered the university failed to disclose letters from the mother of the alleged victim.

Former Iowa football players Abe Satterfield and Cedric Everson face charges in the sexual assault case. They are scheduled to stand trial on Nov. 3.
