IOWA CITY - An argument between an apartment complex employee and a tenant led to an evacuation and manhunt Thursday night in Iowa City.

The incident happened just before 7:00 p.m. at the Dolphin Lake Point Enclave at 2401 Highway Six East.

Arvind Thakore, manager of the complex, told KCRG-TV9 the Gregory Phillips was upset about being asked to move into another apartment during renovation work.

Then, police said Phillips threatened an employee with a gun. The employee was able to wrestle the gun away, and was not seriously hurt.

Police later recovered a weapon, but could not find Phillips and were unsure if he was armed.

Around 10:15 p.m., police found Phillips at a bus stop across the street from the large apartment complex and took him into custody.

Phillipps is charged with Attempted Murder and Going Armed with Intent. Police say additional charges are anticipated.
