Dubuque Planned Parenthood Supporters Pledge-a-Picket

DUBUQUE - On Thursday, Planned Parenthood gave the media and supporters a peek inside its new clinic in Dubuque. The clinic on Central Avenue offers several forms of birth control and cancer screenings.

It will not perform abortions. But picketers from Dubuque County Right to Life still stand outside with signs that say "Planned Parenthood is bad for Dubuque."

"I think some of the protestors truly believe even contraception shouldn't be offered and I think we know by the number of unintended pregnancies in the community that it is something that is vitally needed," said Deborah Patterson, Planned Parenthood.

Planned Parenthood has raised almost $700 by asking supporters to pledge money for every picketer every day.
