MySpace Friend Allegedly Steals Woman's Purse

DES MOINES (AP) - Police are looking for a man who allegedly robbed a 19-year-old woman at gunpoint after they met on MySpace.

Josie Sacco told police she arranged to meet the man on a street corner early Sunday morning. He got into her car and they talked for a few minutes before the man drew a handgun, put it to Sacco's cheek and told her to give him her purse.

When Sacco tried to pull the purse back, the man allegedly struck her several times with the handgun.

Sacco let go of the purse, and the man fled on foot. Sacco told police the purse had about $200 in it. She suffered a cut above her right eyebrow and swelling to her forehead and face.

An investigation is ongoing.
