Iowa City Police Investigate a Robbery

IOWA CITY - Iowa City officers were flagged down by a female early Saturday morning, who wanted to report a robbery.

The investigation revealed the female victim and her female friend were in the plaza, near College and Dubuque St., when they were approached by two females.

One of the females punched the victim in the face, knocking her to the ground and the other female stole her purse.

The robbers direction of travel was unknown. The victim was not injured in this incident.

The first suspect is described as a heavy set, black female. The second suspect is described as a 5’7”, white female around 250 lbs.
