MUSCATINE, Iowa (AP) — More than two dozen people have been arrested in a two-day prostitution sting in eastern Iowa.
The Muscatine Journal reports that 27 people were arrested on Wednesday and Thursday during the undercover operation conducted by the Muscatine Police Department and the Muscatine County Sheriff's Office, along with the FBI and 14 other local law enforcement agencies.
Muscatine County Attorney Alan Ostergren says two Muscatine area hotels were used for the operation. He says the sting showed that "prostitutes are willing to travel to Muscatine."
Most of those arrested were from Iowa and Illinois, although some came from as far away as Maryland and Arizona.
