DES MOINES - Police in Des Moines say a man arrested after a near 2-hour standoff is the man who shot and killed two women Thursday morning.
Around 6:30 a.m. police were called to a report of a drive by shooting. A woman's body was found inside a car that hit a utility pole. Another woman was found dead in the street.
Police surrounded a nearby home where man was holding 3 children hostage. Nearly 2 hours later, swat teams moved in using flash grenades. The children were rescued unharmed.
30-year-old Nath Inthaboun was injured in the raid, but is now in police custody. He is charged with two counts of first degree murder in the deaths of Bounpanh Xayavongchanh and Amalia Vasques
