UI Professor Accused of Fondling Students in Exchange for an "A"

By Bree'Ann Hildreth

IOWA CITY (AP) - A University of Iowa professor has been arrested for allegedly asking to fondle female students in exchange for an "A" in his class.

Arthur Miller is charged with four counts of bribery.

He was arrested Friday and taken to jail but later released. Miller is a professor in the university's political science department.

University police records show that in one instance he told the student she would have to do something for him and then he grabbed the student's breast.

Police say Miller later sent the student an e-mail congratulating her on getting a "A+" and offered to discuss helping her get into law school.

In another case Miller told a student to take off her top and she refused and left his office.

Police say Miller fondled third student and asked another to take off her shirt.

When called at home on Saturday, Miller said he didn't have any knowledge of the police complaints.
