Police Investigate Overnight Shooting in Waterloo

WATERLOO - Waterloo police investigate an overnight shooting on Thursday.

Authorities responded to a report of shots fired in the area of North Barclay and Webster Street, around 12:30 a.m.

Officers located a male victim suffering from a gunshot wound to the neck. The victim was transported to an area hospital by Waterloo Fire Rescue and then later to University Hospitals in Iowa City.

The identity of the victim and his condition is not being released at this time.
