JACKSON COUNTY - Two motorcyles and a deer collided this weekend sending two people to the hospital.

It happened less than a mile east of Canton, on 150th Street, in Jackson County just after 6 p.m. on Saturday.

Deputies say Penny Hurlburt, 46, of Camanche, hit a deer that came out of the ditch.

The second driver, Dale Hardison, 59, of Delmar, was following Hurlburt and hit her. Both were thrown from their bikes.

The victims were taken to Jackson County Regional Hospital, and later transferred to U of I Hospitals in Iowa City.
