Body Recovered from Mississippi River Identified

CLAYTON COUNTY - The Clayton County Sheriff's Department says they have identified the body recovered from the Mississippi River.

Officials say that the deceased is of Joseph J. Heaton, 47, of Mineral Point, Wisconsin. Authorities in Guttenberg say they found a the body floating in the Mississippi River just south of town.

The Clayton County Sheriff's Department and the Iowa Department of Criminal Investigations are continuing the investigation and awaiting results of an autopsy.
