IOWA CITY (AP) - A former University of Iowa football player charged with sexually assaulting a woman is asking the state to pay for a private investigator.

An attorney for 19-year-old Abe Satterfield filed the motion on Thursday, along with others that ask the state to pay for witness interviews and to provide more documents in the case.

Satterfield has pleaded not guilty to second- and third-degree sexual assault. His trial is scheduled for Nov. 3.

Authorities say he and another player, 19-year-old Cedric Everson, raped a female student-athlete on Oct. 14 at a campus dorm.

Everson has pleaded not guilty to second-degree sexual assault and his trial is also scheduled for Nov. 3.
