Leave us to the mess and water? Just because people are predjudice? Show me a city or town without predjudice and I'm with ya, leave them the mess to clean up themselves. As far as this story is concerned though, speaking from a knowledge from working this flood cleanup, this guy took advantage of Nikki and her house and then God only knows what he did to make her stab him. I know Nikki... and whatever he did he must have deserved what he got.

Yeah, im from Cedar Rapids and i have always been a criminal, i have never even been to Chicago. I stabed my first person when i was in the Linn County Correctional facility. You can't say that just because someone is a criminal they "HAVE" to be from Chicago. I think im an awesome person at commiting crimes right here in Cedar Rapids!

Just so you all know, Nikki is NOT from Illinois. She is an Iowa gal. I knew who she was many years ago and I know she has had a troubled life since birth.

KCRG lets everybody post. Even idiots have a voice. In our democracy, this is considered healthy public discourse. It's also a great way for us to distinguish the idiots from the average person who has something intelligent to say. Before posting, ask yourself which type of poster are you?

ARE YOU READING AT ALL? Comments about your anchors smoking pot. Sexual remarks about your female anchors. Racist remarks. Are you kidding me? For being such a professional news team , you are letting a handful of jerks make this board and by extension this website and by furher extension the integrity of your station A JOKE. And your new method of flagging for moderation ties up in the script process, so I doubt that it works whatsoever.

The Gazette mentions this man was in town to help with flood cleanup. I wonder why KCRG left this part of the stoty off? Seems he was here trying to help. If I were from out of town and read comments like the ones here, I would leave you all to your water and mess and just stay home. What a rude group of people that so consistently post on KCRG.

"What is with Iowans blaming everything on Chicago?" Because some people think that anyone that commits a crime in Cedar Rapids must be from Chicago. Plenty of people that were born and raised here are criminals as well as people who move here from other areas.

GrammAr ErRors;" Who, care?s" I love the grammar police these days! Tank devoid of self esteem and a whole lot of time to fustigate those who may not have a whole lot of time to carefully submit a story "professionally" I understood the piece perfectly, yet do NOT understand why certain people have to police the piece. That souded neat didn't it?!;''

If you can do it better, why aren't you the reporter/writer? That 'opening sentence' is a complete sentence by the way. It's all based on how you read it. Maybe you're looking for a run-on sentence which has everything all together. That would be unprofessional.

None of you people even talk about the STORY! I have to wonder what happened to make Nikki stab the guy. Perhaps she was defending herself? Maybe she just fliped out. I would like to know the rest of the story. She has had a rough life from what I know.

After a story like this I thought that the comments would be much more ammusing...not the case. Just some idiot trying to point out POINTLESS things that have nothing to do with the story. Tipical- People who have nothing better to do with their day- Ive got an idea- GET A JOB....If you dont make mistakes- shouldnt be hard for you to find one then eh?

concerned got what he/she was looking for...a response out of all the rest of you :) also got himself/herself an ego booster shot...it'll wear off and lead to another posting ("correction") to another story, then more responses, then another posting, etc, etc. break the cycle and don't respond to foolishness. btw, ignore my spelling and grammar errors please :))

C'mon concerned, give Ashley a break!! In case you didn't notice it was 3:30AM when this story was written and posted!!! Let's see how well your brain functions at that time of the morning!!

Thursday, Jul 24 at 8:27 AM anonymous wrote ...

I agree. It's a headline sentence to explain what the rest of the story is about. Lets be concerned about the story, not about how it is written. Remember, these stories are written in a hurry to get the news to us as fast as possible.

Thursday, Jul 24 at 8:21 AM To Concerned.. wrote ...

Any person that points out imperfections/mistakes in others, obviously has self esteem issues, hence making themselves feel better while doing it. Find another way to make yourself feel better. People make mistakes. Get over it. Don't waste your time, or our time.

Your opening "sentence" isn't even a complete sentence. What's with all the grammatical errors? This kind of thing is unacceptable from news "professionals".
