I came on the website because I have heard that people of written such dumb and stupid comments. Sherry was my mother-in-law. She knew how to ride a motorcycle. It is what her, her husband, and her son (my husband) all do. Things happen. She was not being careless in anyway. Unless you know what happened, talked to the wittnesses and the state patrol just shut up. As far as we know it was mechanical and the only person that knows for sure isn't talking. Think before you write please.

Sherry worked at Menards for years - she was a wonderful woman who was taking care of her mother and her grandchild. Have some compassion. This wonderful woman died and all you care about is fighting about some stupid stuff? Think about the family. Sherry you will be missed.

It's Bremer, not Bremmer. Read the accident report on the Iowa State Patrol website and you will notice that the officer investigating the accident reports that Sherry lost control of her motorcycle. He does not mention any other factor of cause.

There was no deer, they believe she got a flat tire which caused the accident. There was nothing she could have done. Please quit speculating and making rude comments when everyone should be praying for her family!!

Hey Anonymous 10:53 Your attention to detail may be called to question..."I was 20 feet behind the guy Sunday" It was a woman. Are you sure there was a deer. No one else has mentioned a deer.

10:53 Anonymous, I cannot you would stoop to name calling. A deer was not mentioned in the article and the person I replied to said nothing about being on the scene and seeing a deer. That is why I mentioned speculation. I did not call anyone names, nor did I critisize the rider. According to your account this was caused by a deer...so your ending comment makes no sense..."chances are you are one of those cell phone talkes, eaters, or have you radio blasting that cause these type of accident"

I agree that motorcycles can be unsafe. It is absurd to say that they should be banned though. People choose to ride motorcycles knowing the dangers. If they choose to, that is their right.

9:10 anonymous, I came upon the scene, no need to speculate jerk! I was 20 feet behind the guy Sunday night and the deer could not be seen until it was alraedy in the road so shut up, we don't just ride for pleasure people! you see more bikes because it's economical. If you don't ride, then chances are you are one of those cell phone talkes, eaters, or have you radio blasting that cause these type of accidents!

Thats sad. I've been riding motorcycles since I was 12 years old. I think why we see so many tragic and unfortunate accidents is because of inexperience. People with no experience or training go out and and buy a 600lb time bomb, get a little crazy, then next thing you know your in a situation with no control. If the government wants to regulate, they should regulate new motorcycle operators, require proper training and education, motorcycle engine size limits based on experience, etc.

I know this individual and she has ridden motorcylcles for years and is a good driver. The hurtful, judging comments that you individuals make are inappropriate. I can only pray for her family in this horrible time for them and hope you all do the same!

RussO This information said she lost control and then went into the median. It does not say that tall grass/visibility was a factor. Once again, rather than speuclate people should be praying for the family. My condolences at your time of loss.

Where does it say she was weaving in and out of traffic Forrest Gump?

Motorcylces should be banned??? That was a ridiculous comment, should we ban planes, trains, automobiles, and go back to horse and buggey - do you know HOW she lost control..NO, a lot of people put blame in the wrong areas...banning Bikes IS NOT the answer, some are more responsible than others, we should ban the drivers of the cars/trucks that take advantage of the road, and don't watch for cycles at all!!

bikers beware! BlackHawk and Bremmer counties are not mowing along the sides of the roads! the grass is deer high. Saving money, not lives. this is the second wreck in a week that I have seen! To Forrest Gump... Don't breed! like to see you place your real name when you post.

That is why motorcycles should be banned, people on them cannot drive and have road rage half the time and swerve in and out of traffic thinking that they can manuever the bike. My condolences go out to the family of the deceased.
