CEDAR RAPIDS - The Cedar Rapids Downtown District has announced the Downtown Farmers’ Markets will be back downtown beginning Saturday, August 2nd from 7:30AM-Noon. Location of the market will include Green Square Park and surrounding areas. We have received confirmation from Police, Fire, Health Inspectors, and City officials that this location has been declared a safe and appropriate space. This is where the remaining downtown markets will take place (August 2, 16, September 6, October 4). Parking ramps are clean, available, and will be free to market patrons.

Sponsors for the August 2 market will include Cedar Rapids Bank & Trust, the Eastern Iowa Airport, and the Cedar Rapids Public Library Foundation. Markets will include main stage entertainment, interactive family activities, and cooking demonstrations, in addition to the 148 local Iowa vendors providing quality products for patrons to enjoy. The return of this market is one more piece to the Rebuild Downtown campaign-declaring the commitment so many businesses, organizations, and individuals throughout the community have expressed in rebuilding a downtown better than ever.

We are currently contracting all market vendors, sponsors, and entertainment to confirm with them the good news. If you are a part of the downtown farmers markets and have any questions you can contact our Events Director Jill Wilkins at 398-0449.
