DES MOINES (AP) - Two federal agencies have contradicted each other over whether they communicated before a raid at a northeast Iowa meatpacking plant in May.

That's according to Iowa Congressman Rep. Bruce Braley.

The 1st District Democrat sent a letter just days after the May 12 raid to both agencies - the Department of Labor and the Immigration and Customs Enforcement. He also sent the letter to the U.S. Department of Justice.

He asked whether the agencies had cooperated before the raid at Agriprocessors Inc. in Postville.

Braley says the immigration agency said the departments had coordinated. The labor agency said it wasn't notified.

Braley says he'll seek more details about what happened.
