Man Pleads Guilty to Killing Neighbor's Hogs

NEVADA (AP) - A man accused of killing 41 of his neighbor's hogs near Collins in central Iowa has pleaded guilty to a charge of second-degree criminal mischief.

Jonathon Wright, of Collins, was accused of letting the hogs loose and running them over with his pickup truck on March 9.

Wright was charged with 41 counts of livestock abuse, second-degree criminal mischief and trespassing.

According to court documents filed on Tuesday in Story County District Court, he pleaded guilty to the criminal mischief charge and will be sentenced on Aug. 15.

The hogs were owned by Struthers Farms. Sheriff Paul Fitzgerald said that a feud may have been behind the incident.
