Parkersburg - It's been almost two months since an E-F-5 tornado ripped through Parkersburg, leaving behind a path of destruction. Volunteers from all over the United States have responded.
Today a group of employees from the Dubuque Greyhound Park and Casino took a day off work to deal out help.
A sea of pink workers flowed into Parkersburg this morning, unloading donated items and a check for almost eight thousand dollars.
Dubuque Racing Association’s Joey Anderson said, "Half of that came from guests at the casino or employees who maybe donated through a jeans day and the Dubuque Racing Association and the
Dubuque Greyhound Park and Casino is matching that contribution."
The group handed over the check, and then 22 sets of hands began cleaning up debris.
Dubuque Greyhound Park and Casino Employee Peggy Sue Hoppman said, "when we got here we were kind of anxious to find a place and start doing something, then they took us to the location and we said, let's make our mark here today."
All of the Greyhound Park employees are here on their own time. They are not being paid. And this very different type of work then they are used to.
Hoppman said, "I'm usually in air conditioning, and talking to customers.">
Today her customers are the people whose homes were wiped away.
As construction crews work to re-build more than one hundred homes, these volunteers are doing the dirty work in the sweltering heat, because as they say, it's simply the right thing to do.

Its nice to see people are still helping these victims. Seeing the damage first hand really makes you stop and think.
