BOONE (AP) - Boone County authorities say a 5-year-old boy was killed by another child in an accidental shooting.

The sheriff's office identifies the boy who was shot last Thursday as Caleb Beckman, and says the shooter was an 11-year-old child.

Beckman was pronounced dead at the scene. Sheriff's officials say he was shot by a .22-caliber rifle.

Sheriff Ron Fehr says the shooting was determined to be accidental, but that the Boone County attorney will make the final decision on whether any charges will be filed.

The incident happened on Thursday in rural Boone.
