Waterloo and nearby Cedar Rapids share the same sad fate. Both cities are in a downward spiral thanks to weak leaders and a politically-correct fear of addressing their growing gang/crime problems. In addition, both cities are inherently boring. Not surprisingly, good citizens and good employers move out and relocate to safer and more productive communities. Meanwhile, the City Councils of both cities will invent all kinds of feel-good fixes that do nothing but waste money. Good luck, Iowa. Bye!

Nobody deserves to be shot in the back - black, white, doesn't matter. Shooting a guy in the back and fleeing the scene tells us this probably wasn't self defense.

Our town is a dive. The standard of living here will always be low, regardless of attempted improvements (e.g. riverfront projects, the casino, etc.) to erase the trashyness of this city. This is how Waterloo will always be.

Wheres the NAACP? I think they should focus the attention of reducing Black on Black crime. There goes the neighborhood.
