CEDAR RAPIDS (AP) - Linn County officials say that last month's flooding caused an estimated $45 million in damage to county buildings, equipment and roads.

That's nearly half of the county's annual budget.

Officials say it could take up to a year to restore the Linn County jail and the sheriff's office.

Supervisor Linda Langston hopes to have parts of the county courthouse operating within two months, but she says that's a best case scenario.

Langston says opening the county's administrative services building - home to the supervisors, treasurer, recorder, auditor and others - is a lower priority.

She says officials haven't even decided whether they'll move back in to the building.
