Husband and Wife Arrested for Faking Address, Taking Flood Benefits

CEDAR RAPIDS - A husband and wife have been arrested for using a false address to get benefits intended for flood victims.

The Cedar Rapids Police Department arrested Paul A. Fields, 32 and Susan K. Fields, 42, both of Cedar Rapids. Police say that Paul Fields had an Iowa ID showing a false address, one located in the flooded area. He and Susan used the ID to get more than $4000 in benefits from the American Red Cross.

Both Fields were charged with 2nd Degree Theft and Paul Fields was also charged with falsifying an Iowa ID. Additionally, Paul Fields had two existing warrants, one from Benton County and one from Fort Madison PD. Both Fields were transported to the Hinzman Center.
