WATERLOO, Iowa (AP) - A Charles City man has been arrested for
allegedly stealing and then selling John Deere tractors.

Waterloo police say Gaylen Hicok was arrested Wednesday on nine counts of first-degree theft and three counts of second-degree
theft.

Police say Hicok is a former John Deere employee who stole several tractors and loaders and either sold them or used them personally between July 2006 and February 2008.

Police say Hicok had the equipment delivered to other locations, usually his home. He also sold some items to other Deere employees and keeping the proceeds.

The tractors had an estimated value of $313,000.
