DES MOINES (AP) - The show must go on for former Three Dog Night lead singer Chuck Negron.

Negron is stepping in to fill a concert date canceled by his former band mates who tour under the 1970 rock band's name.

The band was to play at Freedomfest in Cedar Rapids on Saturday and at the Wild Rose Resort and Casino in Emmetsburg Friday. The band canceled both shows because of flooding.

Amy Williams, the casino's general manager, says the casino then contacted Negron to fill in.

Negron was the lead singer on many Three Dog Night hits, including 1974's "The Show Must Go On."

The band, which claims 21 consecutive Top 40 hits and 12 gold albums, broke up in 1975.
