Wells Fargo Announces Assistance for Flood Victims

IOWA, June 12, 2008 – Wells Fargo is offering special assistance to qualified Iowa customers affected by the recent flooding in communities throughout the state. Wells Fargo also is donating $50,000 to the American Red Cross disaster relief fund to assist with recovery efforts.

“We are reaching out to help our Iowa neighbors, friends, families and customers who have been adversely affected by the recent floods,” said Scott Johnson, Wells Fargo Regional Banking president for Iowa and Illinois. “We plan to work with each of our customers on an individual basis because we know that there is no one-size-fits-all solution. We want to meet customer needs and help them succeed financially, especially at this time when customers may be facing a difficult recovery from the floods.”

Wells Fargo customers impacted by the flooding are encouraged to contact their banker or stop by their nearest Wells Fargo stores to discuss financial options. They also can contact Wells Fargo 24 hours a day, seven days a week at 1-800-TO-WELLS (1-800-869-3557).

Assistance available includes:
Small Business
Several programs and services are available for small business customers including Credit Protection Activation, loan payment deferrals/skip-a-payments (BREF, Card, Line, and SBA), fee waivers and case-by-case assistance.

Wells Fargo Home Mortgage/Wells Fargo Home Equity
Affected customers with existing home mortgages or home equity lines/loans should call to inquire about options available to qualified customers.

Wells Fargo Financial/Wells Fargo Auto Finance
Affected customers with existing home mortgages, auto loans or personal credit management accounts should call Wells Fargo to explore case-by-case assistance.

Personal Credit Management
Unsecured loans ranging from $1,000 to $25,000 at a special rate are available to qualified customers in the affected areas.

Credit and ATM/Check Cards
All impacted Wells Fargo Credit Card, ATM Card and Check Card customers are encouraged to call their local banker or the toll-free customer service number (1-800-TO-WELLS). Each call is given high priority. Customer service representatives are available 24/7.

Wells Fargo Merchant Services
Affected customers with existing merchant services accounts should call contact Wells Fargo 24/7 at 1-800-TO-WELLS to inquire about payment options available to qualified customers.
