Benefit Concert on Sunday for Disaster Victims
CEDAR RAPIDS - KCRG-TV9 is partnering with Cumulus Broadcasting and asking you to get involved in this effort to raise money for the people affected by the 2008 storms.
The local band, Lockren, will perform during the three-hour, family event beginning at 3:00 on Sunday, June 1st. It’s at the Bremer County Fairgrounds in Waverly, rain or shine. We're happy to announce that the band Wildcard will also be performing. Cost is $5 a person or $15 per family. And 100% of the money will go to relief efforts. The Red Cross will also be on hand to accept donations. And there will be a silent auction. Hundreds of houses were either destroyed or damaged after a tornado tore through Parkersburg, Janesville, Cedar Falls, Dunkerton, Hazelton, and several other towns in North East Iowa. The silent auction will feature dozens of family orientated items. Food and pop will also be on site. We're continuing to work to add more to the benefit concert. The auction will include: Free Pool Party from the Waverly Pool, an overnight stay in a whirlpool suite from Comfort Inn & Suites in Cedar Falls, a GPS device from Best Buy, overnight stay at the Isle Casino & Hotel in Waterloo plus dinner for two at that famous buffet, tickets for the Bremer Co. Fair grandstand events, a $200 gift certificate from Donna Busch Photography in Shell Rock and many other family orientated items. We'll bring you the latest information here, on KCRG.com.
