Storm Brings More Snow, Cold and Wind to Across Eastern Iowa

DES MOINES (AP) - First the snow, now the cold and the wind. Just another winter day in Iowa. A slow-moving storm was dumping more snow early Tuesday as temperatures plummeted and the winds picked up. The National Weather Service expected up to a foot of new snow by Tuesday afternoon. Since the storm started Sunday, snow amounts of 6 to 10 inches were common over central and north central Iowa. The snow was still falling over northern and eastern Iowa.
