DES MOINES (AP) - Agriprocessors Inc. is seeking a new chief executive officer after an immigration raid at its meatpacking plant cost it nearly half its work force.

The Postville company has been led by Sholom Rubashkin since his family founded the plant in 1987. His father Aaron Rubashkin, the company's owner, announced Friday that new leadership is needed. He would not say whether his son would remain with the company or a how long the hiring process would last.

Agriprocessors, the world's largest kosher meatpacking plant, was raided by federal agents on May 12. They arrested 389 workers and charged most of them with immigration violations and criminal charges.
