Maybe the police officers should hang around Sullivan park. I understand there was a fight a week ago involving this same kid. Anyone hear of a gang in Waterloo called the Black and Whites? Maybe they should be looking into that! Heard there is a group of 15-20 young men that make that park their home away from home. Its not even summer yet, do we have more to look forward to as the weather turns warmer?

Call it racism, bias, whatever. Those terms are so overused now that they're meaningless. The fact is most people recognize the reason for crime in Iowa's larger cities, but they don't dare speak up about it despite what the perp statistics show.

Why does everyone think that anything bad that happens in Iowa, is rooted from Chicago? I lived there for 19 years and there was never any violence in my neighborhood. I think you small town folk need to realize not all of the violence comes from Chicago, but comes from your own neighborhood.

I purchased gas at this station a few months ago. Several young girls harrassed me as I bought gas. Waterloo need to redirect the youth! I will never buy gas there again.

wow, all the ignorance that iowans are known for is definately demonstrated by these comments. How does anyone know the shooter is from Chicago?I have family who lives on the south side and I will tell you they are not thugs. But the instant I tell anyone where my family lives everyone stereotypes them so sad really. I guess thats why they think all Iowans are farmers out in the middle of no where. oh and chicago is a lot worse than waterloo ever will be. Folks broaden your horizons and thoughts
