East Dubuque, IL - A seven year-old East Dubuque girl has died after being backed over by a truck Monday evening.

Police say Jenna Kramer was crouched down behind a pick-up truck in a school parking lot.

The driver of that truck was backing out of a parking space and did not see the girl.

School officials say the girl's death is affecting the entire community.
Superintendent Katherine Kelly says the accident happened in the high school parking lot. Jenna Kramer and dozens of other girls were here getting their pictures taken for summer softball league. "
The accident happened as the young athletes and their families were coming and going in the busy parking lot.
Kelly says several other children witnessed the whole thing happen.

Jenna was taken to Mercy Medical Center in Dubuque where she died.
Grief counselors from all over the area are in place to help students who witnessed the accident or knew Jenna Kramer.

Police are not releasing the pick-up driver's name until more family members are notified.

Superintendent Kelly describes Jenna Kramer as a beautiful child who was about to wrap-up her first grade school year.
