CENTER POINT - A state audit is raising questions about
a small town librarian.
The audit claims Donna Turner was selling books from the Center
Point Library on the Internet and pocketing some of the money.
Turner resigned in December. At the time, auditors said 211
library books were listed for sale by an Amazon.com account set up
by Turner.
Auditor David Vaudt says the audit, which covers 2006 and 2007,
found about $2,500 in collections not deposited in proper city
accounts and nearly $1,000 more in improper and unsupported
disbursements.
Copies of the audit have filed with local and state officials. A
call left at Turner's home in Center Point wasn't immediately
returned.
