Police Look for Suspect in Coralville Robbery

CORALVILLE - Police are on scene of an apparent robbery in Coralville around 10:30 a.m. Friday morning.
Officials say it happened at the Check into Cash on First Avenue and Highway 6. The robber got demanded cash and gestured as if he had a weapon, although no weapon was displayed. He got away with an undisclosed amount of cash and fled towards 1st Ave. on foot.
No one was injured.
Police tell TV9 that a witness reported the suspect loitering in the parking lot prior to the robbery.
The suspect is described as a medium skin tone black male, 5’8” to 5’10”, 160 to 180 pounds. He was wearing a tan colored hooded jacket, medium blue colored baggy jeans and black and blue “Puma” style tennis shoes.
Iowa City Area CrimeStoppers is offering a reward of up to $1000 for information leading to the arrest of this suspect. Anyone with information about this crime is urged to contact CrimeStoppers at 358-TIPS (8477). All calls are held in strict confidence and anonymity is guaranteed. Individuals providing information do not have to reveal their identity to collect a reward.
