How is it that breaking the law is OKAY? These folks 1) came to America illegally, 2) Agriprocessors hired them illegally,3)they are STEALING because they are not paying taxes for government services because of their PHONY SSN's. I am sick of all the sympathy for these LAWBREAKERS. Paul Rael, you are WRONG! Shortages will not necessarily occur due to deporting these ILLEGALS. Honest, LEGAL AMERICANS can fill the these jobs. Business must adjust business plans to LEGALLY fulfill them.

Geez Larry you aren't very bright for admitting a Postville Police officer was getting bribed. I pay 635.00 a month rent and have been waiting for a year for new carpet and things to be fixed. Hmmm, so what is your point. They probably wouldn't have to rent so high if 20 of them weren't living in the place trashing it. It costs for repairs you know. what should it be free like everything else is for them? I agree Agri owners and management need to burn in hell for what they have done.

Steve, you are entirely correct about the slum lord comment. Housing owned by Jewish and rented to illegals was an enormous money maker for them. Also for the locals that rented to illegals. $500-700 per month sometimes more. If things were brike they did not get fixed. There are too many people making huge amounts of money off the illegals. Local police are limited in enforcing federal law, so there hands were tied. One officer used to take cash to release illegals on moving violations.

Or aren't we supposed to ask that?

They should expect to be treated like criminals when they are criminals. Identity and SSN theft are serious crimes if done by anybody and those convicted should go to jail whether they are illegal or not. When they get out of jail they should be deported with no future legal visas. They've proven themselves to be crooks and this country has too many already. Like the company officials who hired them.

Apparently the Mexican ministry is different from what i always heard was the right way.......it's ok to break laws according to this Mexican religion? Hire them all back...illegal or not? WOW! And here I thought the laws of God were to follow the laws of man. Guess I was mistaken according to this religious sect of Mexico.

"We cannot have something like this happen to our community on a permanent basis". I agree with you, Mr. Rael. And you can readily prevent it from happening again by NOT supporting ILLEGAL IMMIGRATION. Hello?!

These city leaders allowed it to happen little by little till it was too late to stop it. Now you will have to start over. I hope you think this time before letting that happen again.

Of course the Comm. leaders are worried. They will lose gvt funding, and other revenue. Regardless of whether they were illegal or not they obviously were working and spending money in that town. The town will suffer. This is what happens when you go non-union- the wages fall. The plant will close and they will just find another place to open up to do the same thing again. Years ago this would have never happened-People used to fight for their jobs. Get Legal -follow the rules like everyone else

They came to this country illegally, they broke the law. They were caught! Enough said, send them back already. If you don't like that, maybe you should join them!

I am disgusted by the media coverage of this event. There is only one side being reported on-boo hoo, feel sorry for the ILLEGAL workers. Am I missing something here?!? They're ILLEGAL, many of them stole/made up identities, SSN's, etc. and we're supposed to feel sorry for them? How about slapping a hefty enough fine on the plant so they won't have to think twice about hiring illegal workers anymore, and the illegal workers will have no reason to be here illegally. Wake up, America!
