DES MOINES (AP) - Police are investigating an apparent drive-by shooting in Des Moines that left two teenagers hospitalized.

Police say the teens, ages 14 and 16, were standing on a corner on the city's east side Tuesday afternoon when shots were fired from a passing car.

One of the teens was hit in the leg. The other was shot in the stomach. Both were taken to local hospitals.

Police say a witness told officers that he saw two guns sticking out of the car. The witness also told officers that four bullets hit his house.

Police searched the area but could not locate any suspects.

They say they're looking into whether it was gang-related.
