Man Charged with Firing Shotgun at Son, Friend

By Becky Ogann

DES MOINES (AP) - A Des Moines area man has been arrested after he allegedly fired a shotgun at his son and another boy.

Brian Stinson, 39, was arrested early Monday morning after deputies responded to a complaint of gunshots in an area just north of the city.

Officials with the Polk County sheriff's office say Stinson got into an argument with his son and his son's friend and chased after them with a baseball bat.

Officials say that as the boys left the house, Stinson fired a 12-gauge shotgun at them.

No one was hurt.

Stinson has been charged with two counts of intimidation with a dangerous weapon and two counts of assault, use or display of a dangerous weapon.

Boy,I sure think some of you are judging too quickly here. None of you know the "real story" on this, unless you know Brian and his son or were actually there. Right? Right! Maybe his son is a drug addict and came to his house trying to steal from him to support his habit.Maybe his son was threatening his life.you are making comments about something you know nothing about, yet people can get off or drowing their five, young, and innocent children in the bath and admitting it.talk about anger mgmt

Anyone who thinks the justice system will help this family better think again. No one cares other than to prosecute for crimes. There is no excuse for using a club or a gun but sometimes there isn't any other choices with our system of foolishness that doesn't even face the harsh realities of life. Arrest and fine poor people doesn't help or solve the problems it just makes things worse and more likely to happen again.

Do you really think that the justice system is going to help that family? Maybe he was being a good Pa. The boys were cooking meth or something, so he tried to scare em strait. Before the fair and mighty "justice system" get em. Dont be so quick to judge.
