The well used Willis Dady Homeless Shelter is getting a security and visual boost.
It's going to be a busy place there today, as it goes through a much needed make-over.
Thanks in part to the community, and the Leadership for Five Seasons Program.
The Willis Dady Homeless Shelter focuses on helping single men and families in the community.
A volunteer group sponsored by the chamber of commerce chose the shelter this year to focus their efforts on.
The family rooms have stained couches, broken blinds, and have sheets for curtains.
Starting Friday at 9 a.m. members of the Leadership for Five Seasons will be cleaning, painting and furnishing the shelter with new furniture and curtains.
The shelter says this will make the families that use their facilities feel more comfortable in a stressful time.
“We really want to create more of a welcoming environment here at the shelter and environment where families can come in and feel safe and feel welcome and I think this leadership program is really going to help do that,” says Libby Jensen, the Executive Director of the shelter.
Security cameras are also being installed. They've had problems with staff security, as well as the security of other residents. Nine cameras are being donated and installed by Radio Communications.

Live at the shelter some years ago and i thank then for allowing us to day 7 people in one rome with 4 bunk beds and 1 restroom, we only ate cold cuts because cooking was restricted, thanks for the update i am sure this is exactly what the shelter needs.
