Red Cross Aids Those with Flood Damage
CEDAR RAPIDS - The Red Cross is helping eastern Iowans who have experienced flood damage.
People can pick up clean-up kits at the Hudson fire department. Flood victims in the Independence area can get kits at the fire department there. Three Emergency Response Vehicles are traveling throughout the seven affected counties delivering food, water and cleanup supplies such as mops, brooms and disinfectant to recovering residents. Families in need of assistance are being urged to contact Red Cross service centers where they can receive immediate disaster needs such as food, clothing, medicine and cleanup supplies. Red Cross service centers have been set up in Dubuque, Dyersville, Cedar Rapids and Charlotte. Others will be opened as needed. The Red Cross says anyone with flood damage should be sure to take photos for insurance claims purposes. For more information, please call the Grant Wood Area Chapter in Cedar Rapids at (319) 393-3500 or the Dubuque Area Chapter at (563) 583-6451.
