MOUNT VERNON (AP) - A former champion wrestler at Cornell College has given the school $700,000.

Warren DePrenger, owner of Matman Wrestling, a uniform and gear manufacturer, has donated proceeds of a pension plan to the Mount Vernon college.

DePrenger, who now lives in Tacoma, Wash., was a four-time conference champion wrestler at Cornell and is a member of the college's athletic hall of fame.

DePrenger has funded Cornell's annual Matman Invitational, which attracts the best college wrestlers in the state.

College officials say the donation won't be restricted to sports and will be used for the school's top needs.
