Two Suspicious Deaths in Johnson County

JOHNSON COUNTY - The Johnson County Sheriff's Office is investigating two suspicious deaths this weekend. The bodies of Wendy Peck and Robert Lovetinsky Jr. were found at 5551 Johnson Muscatine Road Southeast Friday night.

Investigators say Peck's daughter came home from school Friday and found her mother's body inside. That's when she called police. Minutes later, they say the daughter found the Lovetinsky's body.

Authorities say the two victims knew each other, but they wouldn't elaborate on much more. Neighbors and friends say the two were dating.

The Johnson County Sheriff says they found injuries on the bodies, but not an obvious cause of death.

The State Division of Criminal Investigation is assisting in the investigation. Right now they are not actively looking for a suspect.

"I don't think there's someone out randomly killing people. I think people should go on about their business as usual," says Johnson County Sheriff Lonny Pulkrabek.

Authorities hope to know more after the autopsies are conducted. They're hoping that will be Sunday night.
