15-Year-Old Killed in Johnson County Car Crash

JOHNSON COUNTY, Iowa - A 15-year-old girl was killed in a car crash that occurred south of Iowa City Sunday morning, according to an Iowa State Patrol report.
Brittany Hochstetler of Grabill, Ind. was a passenger in one of the cars involved in the two-car collision. The report said Hochstetler was airlifted to the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics. Three others were injured in the crash and were transported to UIHC by ambulance.
The crash occurred Sunday at 1:05 a.m. at the junction of Highway 1 and 520th St. SW.
The report said Hochstetler was a passenger in the car driven by 17-year-old Teresa Miller of Wellman. Miller was driving northbound on Highway 1 when her car collided with a car driven by 27-year-old Jeffrey Bulechek of Iowa City. Bulechek's car was traveling eastbound on 520th St. when the two cars collided at the intersection. Both vehicles rolled and ended up in the ditch, records show.
The crash remains under investigation by the Iowa State Patrol.
