WATERLOO (AP) - Police have arrested a man in the slaying of a woman in September.

Dewayne Lacory Craft, 27, is charged with first-degree murder and was being held Tuesday on $1 million bond.

He is accused of killing Shayla Adrenna Todd, 26, whose body was found Sept. 2 inside an apartment the couple shared, police said.

An autopsy showed she died of strangulation and blunt force trauma.

Craft was already being held in jail on assault and robbery from an earlier incident involving Todd, police said.
