Bird Watching Gaining PopularityBy: Steve Nicoles, Reporter
IOWA CITY - You might be surprised to find out what is the second most popular hobby behind gardening. It is bird watching, or ‘birding’ for those in the know. Officials with the DNR say this is a great time to get started. Birds are migrating so you can see some of Iowa’s 400 native birds and even birds that are not from around here. Iowa City Bird Club member Karen Disbrow said, “See more about their behavior and how they feed and how they interact with each other and it's just a great way to bring wildlife into your life."
