DUBUQUE - Producers will soon begin filming the movie "Duck Farm Number 13" right here in Iowa.

It's a movie about the life of two small-town girls set in the Northeast Iowa community of McGregor.

Casting directors are hand-picking local actors to play small roles in the film.
Scene—small-town Iowa teenagers with dreams bigger than the town can offer.

Producer Joel Sadilek explains the plot. "They are looking for love in all the wrong places and they are finding it."

That plot is all too familiar for local actress Gabrielle McNally.

She said, “I definitely know what it is like to be trapped in a small town."

Both the film's producer and director are originally from Iowa and want to bring small-town Iowa life to the big screen.

Sadilek said, "We feel it is important to involve Iowa as much as possible, mostly so that the local flavor comes out in the film."

Locals waited in line for hours in the rain for their shot at fame- whether it’s as an extra or for one of the four coveted speaking roles.

Kathy Garms of Elkader commented, "How many chances does a person get to try out for something like this?"

For many of these aspiring actors and actresses this may be the only time Hollywood hits close to home.

While others are hoping this is the break they need to make Hollywood their next home.

Crews will begin shooting "Duck Farm Number 13" on October 14th.

A professional actress from Los Angeles will play the lead role, but producers say there is no official contract signed yet for that role.
