DES MOINES (AP) - A coalition of interest groups, led by Greenpeace, is increasing the pressure on Iowa's congressional delegation to support legislation targeting global warming.

To show their cause, they've fashioned a corn field near Ames into the shape of wind turbine. Greenpeace's Kelly Mitchell, at a news conference in Des Moines Tuesday, says it's a symbol of Iowa's need for a greater commitment to renewable energy and global warming.

The groups are pushing Iowa's delegation to support the Safe Climate Act. It takes a variety of steps to stop global warming, including creating a national renewable electricity standard and increased tailpipe emissions standards.

So far, only Democratic Congressman Bruce Braley of Waterloo has signed on as a supporter.
